Racheline, I'm as puzzled and frustrated as you are about your status as troll target du jour.

I also find this really telling that the troll chose to post this threat on an entry about a young girl who committed suicide when online 'friends' told her the world would be better off without her. My big question is ... did LJ miss the memo about this, somehow? When this has become a national issue and should be cause for all journaling services to think about how they protect people from users who advocate their deaths by suicide?

What is LJ going to do if people start flagging a minor's LJ just to harrass her/him? And if people post messages like the one sent to Megan Meier in the journals of minors (and the one posted to you here, R.), will they just ignore the situation? Because telling clinically depressed and/or suicidal teens and children (AND adults) to kill themselves does way, WAY more damage than showing them a picture of a boob or two people having sex.

What the fuck is LJ thinking?!?!?

You should really post those thoughts over on the LJ biz thread. Because they're seriously good points.

Will make an longer LJ post after work today. Because I think it's these kinds of things - and not a picture of Draco who may or may not be 17 or 20 having sex with Snape and Lucius - that LJ *should* be protecting minors from.
