- ganked form everywhere:
Everyone has things they blog about. Challenge me out of my comfort zone by asking me about something I don't blog about, but you'd like to hear about. Ask for anything: latest movie watched, last book read, political leanings, thoughts on slash, favorite type of underwear, graphic techniques, etc. Repost in your own journal so that we can all learn more about each other.

- LJ is abolishing free accounts. I'm going to bed now, so I'll read up and offer commentary on this on the morrow, but it doesn't look good.

- Nominations are about to be open for the LJ advisory board. Considering I worked for Mindvox, I should know better, but I am tempted to run. Also, hello, Istanbul?

- Oh fencing. Fencing fencing fencing.

Being busy (too busy) is how I deal with clinical depression, which has been crippling at times in my life. This makes me a bit stressed and high strung, but it works for me, and I am able to maintain it (and have pretty consistently for at least a decade now), so I do it. It's probably a slight manic tendency (my father is bipolar), but work is the chief way I self-medicate. That I have the luxury of doing the work I want and also viewing my pleasure pursuits as work (and work is a good thing) is what keeps it from being non-toxic.

I'm also someone who has wasted a lot of time and not put my gifts to their full use for too much of my life. This is making up for it. It's atonement, both to myself and to the world. I'm not saving lives here, but if 2% of what I produce matters at some point to someone, it's still important and an obligation I'm glad to have.

I'm way too familiar with both mental and physical defeat to give that shit even half a chance.
