iPOd froze up.
Itunes won't recognize it.
Screen also won't go into saver mode.
I can't fix it.
Do I have to bring it to the Apple store right now to make sure it doesn't burn an image onto the screen and ruin the thing?

Always try to reboot first (as I see you've discovered).

Mine occasionally has bouts where that doesn't work. If that happens, let the battery die, THEN plug it in to charge. I've never had it not bounce back from that.

Agreed. About once every two weeks or so I'll confuse the tiny thing's brain by hitting too many buttons at once and it'll freeze up. The battery dies on its own -- at most, my mini will take 14 hours (the full battery life). Then you can just recharge it. No negative consequences so far as I can tell.
