- Right now, Patty will be arriving 3 hours later, which sucks, as she'll be even more tired and we'll lose the evening.

- Finished Doctor Who, series 3. Lots to process there. Woah. Now at least I get why people write really dirty porn featuring the Master. Also, great, GREAT use of pop music. And loving the Jack/Doctor ex-bf drama. I mean, really!

- Next story in the TW series I am doing with Kali is almost done. It's batshit insane and scorching hot.

- Paid bills. Booked cable repair appointment.

and that's all I've got!

Or as Doctor 11 if Tenant ever lets anyone pry the role of the Doctor away from him (which is honestly hard to imagine).

Her: Hero good, Villain better. Although that would probably be the best Doctor of all time.
And we are coming up on the 15th Doctor rather fast.( 'It's not been done, but apparently you can get thirteen regenerations with out risk of gender slide, and probably not much risk for a fourteenth..."

Well, I don't view the Doctor as a hero. I think Nine was incredibly dark and that Ten is actually darker because it's less obvious, but he is brutal and ruthless and even if he's usually struggling against that, when he's not, he snaps into a very dark, albeit necessary, place.

And really, who's to say Swinton would even need to play the Doctor as a woman (or a man for that matter).?

Most excellent of points!
And the BBC doesn't get nearly enough mail from outraged simpletons anyway.

Well, I don't view the Doctor as a hero.

Since my impressions of the Doctor were formed in 1963, I can't go with you very far down that road, no matter how dark it gets. Were the creators to go all the way down that road, I could admire it artistically, and enjoy it. I just wouldn't really believe it.
My limitation, and not yours.

Well, yes and no. because I'm only beginning to entertain the idea of being willing to watch old Who. I think it's reasonable to say that people who have only seen the new show are working from an entirely different (and acceptably self-contained as opposed to incomplete) canon, than the people who have seen both.

Yes, entirely so. There are of necessity two canons.
But also, you were a fully formed adult, and I was a very young child.

She'd be a BRILLIANT Doctor, but yeah, they'd have to pry that role from David Tennant's dead hands.

hahaha, when I first started to make that comment I totally made a crack about Tennant's cold dead hands, but then decided it might be a bit rude to put it that way and changed it.

Isn't it nice when someone else says the crass thing... Although the Doctor and cold dead hands immediately remind me of Jack!

Any crackfic you could come up with, is as likely to pop up on the actual show as not.

I LOVE THAT.

I had to explain to someone who doesn't watch TW that a joke I made about BBQ sauce and the pterodactyl actually comes from canon. But I am not sure they believe me.

Everybody does die at the end of Hamlet... except good old Fortinbras.

Oh, come on. 98% of the cast dies. Horatio is just the messenger. And David Tennant's cold dead hands will be available at least in theory.

Not according to the last production of it I saw.

They shot Horatio in the head on stage. There was splatter.
