Can I just say how frightening I find the Republican convention?

Open religious hatred and chants of "USA" that sound angry rather than proud. I am sincerely, sincerely, completely creeped the fuck out by this. I wish I didn't think it sounded high strung when I say I feel unsafe listening to this shit.

Doesn't sound high-strung to me. I believe that to some folks at the convention, we are the enemy.

(Scarier yet, before I can start watching it live, I have to watch an ad claiming that 8 out of 10 women have damaged hair!)

I was raised to watch all of both conventions. When they started broadcasting less of them on network, my mother called to make sure I had cable, so I could watch it all. She calls me sometimes, and she doesn't just sound angry anymore, but scared.

Oh and I've known I was the enemy since Dan Quayle.
