Well, last night at Dances of Vice, but hey!

blurry crowd shot

my favorite blurry crowd shot

blurry crowd shot (the dancer dancer in the sequined gown in the center? He's a spectacular dancer we see all the time sometimes in girl clothes, sometimes in guy clothes.)

me, very drunk and full of myself

Hair looks marvelous!
Your belt, is that antique by chance? Looks similar to one I had once gifted that I had found in D.C. But hard to tell from the pic.

Thanks for sharing :)

Looks fab either way. Was haunted by the belt I referred to and tried to find an image online, best I could find was the buckle clasp:

But to see the enire belt is just - beautiful. An ammo belt that was issued the British/Canadian Victorian Calvary.
Actually found in an antique store on King Street in Olde Town Alexandria (NOT nearly technically DC), some 15 or so years ago.
It was ssooooo sweet.
blargh
Thanks again.

I'd say you had reason to be full of yourself. You look pretty good there.

Nice boots. Are they custom made?

Thank you!.

The boots, hilariously are from Forever 21 (cheap store with clothes for like college age folks), but we were in one in Ohio, and they had these fantastic boots. The nice thing about brown is cheap can look weathered.

Hey, if it works, it works.

I have a pair of 1858 style US Cavalry boots that I got made in Mexico about ten years ago now. I haven't worn them much in recent years, but they're still good. I did put a pair of Dr. Sholls sport insoles into them, which made a huge difference in comfort.

I still regret not getting custom boots done when I was in Australia (which is apparently a thing to do there because of the awesome exchange rate).

You look fantastic in the photo.

I really want to go to Dances of Vice, but I am generally too shy and awkward.

Completely unrelated, but I thought if your LJ posts, and that you may be interested. We are cleaning out our closets, and SO has a German military coat that you may be interested in. I want to say that it's a 40 or 42, but you could tear it apart and alter it. Would you be interested? I could take a photo. It's free to a good home, and we have way too many military coats and reenacting gear here.

I like that posture there in the photo, the confidence. Very Harkness indeed.
