I really really really REALLY want to comment on that post with "women do not revere the venom cock as men do," but that would only compound the not-getting-it. I almost feel sorry for the poor creature.
Ignoring the ridiculousness of her answer, I actually find the wording of the question rather interesting as it specifically asks about changing one's orientation rather than being willing to sleep with a celebrity of the same sex. That's a much bigger picture when you think about it.
On the one hand, the question might be taken to suggest that sexual orientation is a choice which I don't believe it is. On the other hand, it could also suggest that sexuality is not as clear cut as many would suggest, which I do believe to be the case. I'm by no means an expert on sexual identity of course, so please take what I say with a grain of salt.
It is a shame, though not surprising that most of the responses seem to be from women.
Oh, and in case you're wondering, my answer (or one of them anyway) is John Barrowman. Tell me you're shocked.
John would be my answer as well. It would be complicated, though, because I am a straight woman and so I would need both a sex change *and* a change of 'orientation'! Maybe I will just stick with changing nothing and crushing on Nine / Christopher Eccleston...
Seriously, had I been more awake when I replied I would have said, "Hey, just because you don't know how to fuck a girl, doesn't mean the rest of us are similarly impaired," but I was tired and Jack was sleeping ;)
I'm curious why it is expected that a straight woman should know about lesbian sex practices. She's obviously ignorant, but aren't we all about something?
Man, I still think the "foreplay" is the best part. But I've had enough people cutting into my vagina that it's understandable penetrative sex isn't my favourite thing in the world.
I don't object to her liking cock, but I definitely object to her definition of sex as cock+vagina. (West Wing segue! They had that episode with the report on abstinence-only education that recommended "abstinence plus" that Sam renamed "anything but". And I had no idea how gorgeous Rob Lowe was before watching this.)
I don't get why anyone would be offended by this. Granted I am vanilla old straight white guy now, but it seems to me in this age of enlightenment about gender and sexual identity that it is really no big deal if some random lady seems to think that intercourse is her definition of enjoyable sex.
Oh yeah, I'm all for her digging what she digs. It's the implication that those of us who aren't having sex the way she has sex aren't actually having sex.
bwahahahahahah! that moron left himself open for a world of hurt..and yet in those comments not ONE went out for male-bashing, which is SO easy to do...
I commented, "Even bacteria know that sex and reproduction are not synonymous," but that didn't really capture the scope of the cluelessness displayed. And the naïveté: clearly someone needs a crash course in getting oneself off.
Only if you make up a card like the airplane safety cards so she can follow along while you demonstrate. And you must dress like a flight attendant. :P
Wow I'm a stone cold virgin and even I know how wrong that is. And pulling the 'she's straight' card so doesn't work because straight people can do other stuff too...
When we were in couples' therapy a few years back, our therapist, a native of Belgium, remarked one time that French has no word for "foreplay". I don't know whether that's true, but it seems relevant.
