rm Patty and I got fabulously discounted tickets to Cirque and are going on April 28th, which is more or less our anniversary (we actually have no idea, although I should look something up -- it might actually be this weekend).
I'm doing my taxes RIGHT NOW.
It felt really good to finish that story last night. It was atypical for me stylistically in a lot of ways, and it was good to struggle through the difficult parts. I rarely view fanfiction as any sort of practice for pro-fic -- it's a completely different muscle for me, but this was useful from a work ethic perspective. Maybe this means the three other half-finished Torchwood fics on my harddrive (not including stuff Kali and I are working on) will get done soon.
Okay, so I'm only kinda doing my taxes RIGHT NOW. But I will be. In a second.
Horrible computer problems persist. Temporary fix seems to have been nuking Firefox 3.x and reinstalling 2.x although the problem did not seem to be solely resident with Firefox. Anyone else?
Amusingly, Patty's archaeology conference in Atlanta next week? At the Marriott!
Also amusingly, Nathan Fillion's on Twitter now.

Date: 2009-04-15 03:33 pm (UTC)Basically, I run Firefox with gmail in a tab all the time. Periodically (at it's worse, about every five minutes) my whoel computer locks and needs to be rebooted.
Virus scan and malware scans show nothing.
Problem happens way less frequently using Firefox 2.x than 3.x or if I stay out of gmail. Other web-based email (like Yahoo) cause similar but less frequent problems.
Does not happen on my home machine (running Firefox 2.x).
In the previous post other people comment with their own experience with the same thing. Something's going on, but none of us can find the root cause.

Whats baffling me the most is that Firefox is locking your whole PC.
I've seen it eat 300 megs of ram and cause all hell, but I have rarely seen it cause a whole machine crash.
Weird.
