OMG, that speech (which, um, sort of made me cry).
OMG, Jack delcaring his feelings.
OMG, this makes me sooooooooooooo nervous about CoE.

Sure, but Jack came back after the whole Journey's End thing. Surely Ianto's over the ex-bf drama factor... and yet, no.

Do people ever truly get over that sort of thing, esp. when there is a significant past catalog and age difference? I was with an older guy for awhile who had some well-known exes. You'd certainly recognize their names. It can be hard to see one's own value in that situation. Of course, I could just be projecting, since he and I haven't been together in years. But I do sometimes think that the only interesting thing about my love life is that I once slept with a guy who slept with __________ and __________ and no doubt suffered in the comparison with them.

Well, not much can compete with the blue box. And the more Ianto knows about the Doctor, the more he must seem like Jack's ideal match (not just his idealized ex).
