Date: 2009-07-29 04:53 pm (UTC)The best fit I've found was Moo Shoes. Vegans have narrow feet, go figure. The styles for their dress shoes are pretty conservative so don't expect anything fancy. Just basics.

Date: 2009-07-29 05:01 pm (UTC)And duly noted! I have narrow feet myself, which means it's heck on wheels to get shoes I like even going to the ever-obliging Harry's.

Date: 2009-07-29 05:00 pm (UTC)I think Kim's down in the East Village may still have a few items (they consolidated a lot of their stock when their uptown video store closed), but yes, if you don't want to buy online you're increasingly out of luck.

Date: 2009-07-29 05:52 pm (UTC)This. :/ I had a membership thing at Suncoast years ago, but their prices were kinda all over the map depending on what you wanted. God, is Suncoast still around, even? I haven't shopped IRL for DVDs in forever aside from the random dollar kung fu movies in pharmacies.

Date: 2009-07-29 06:56 pm (UTC)i had great luck at Bass stores. not only did they have small men's sizes but many of the women's shoes are in (true) men's oxford/dress style.
i wish i had kept them all but i sold them on ebay when i went back to stilettos. ;-)

Date: 2009-07-29 09:02 pm (UTC)2 - i'm a bit over discussing by this point, time for me to move on! i don't even want to know what happened at SDCC
3 - my grandma used to get severe travel anxiety and i think she passed it to me :(
this is why i hate planning things
4 - i have huge feet, so i can't help you there

Date: 2009-07-29 09:11 pm (UTC)Future shop, if available has good selection, and often has completely geeky things like everything Buffy in one package, or both Tribble Star Trek episodes packed with a real live tribble(humour me)plus non-obvious non-NA stuff I have never seen elsewhere.
Which is a totally useless piece of intel if they aren't around.

Date: 2009-07-29 10:06 pm (UTC)I do appreciate your continued cogent and thoughtful postings on the subject. :D as I said, it helped me process a great deal of my own grief up front, so I was able to watch Days 4 and 5 with a tolerably composed heart.

Date: 2009-07-30 02:45 am (UTC)Shoes, I have big feet so I have often worn men's shoes but since they never fit right I have become used to adding insoles, wedges, and all sorts of layers socks to get them right. I have a pair of boots with a specially designed pair of socks - thin one on the left foot, skouchy one on the right - so they fit well.
Maybe shopping armed with noce thick Dr. Scholes but be worth a try?
Ekatarina, hoping it helps
