When I visited Ireland they were having a pretty horrifying national debate on whether to legalize divorce.

Date: 2009-09-22 08:37 pm (UTC)Ireland legalised divorce back in 1995. It's distressingly recent compared to many other places, but it was partly due to the underlying religious issues that still lurked despite the church and state no longer being joined at the hip. :/
