blackberry help

rmLast night, my Blackberry was low on batteries, so I plugged it into my mac to charge (as I have before) and went to bed.
I woke up (early, thank god) and the screen was dark and wouldn't turn on. There was a solid red light for charging. I've removed and reinserted the battery. The thing still won't turn on.
I really need to get this thing working, and I have no technical support options I don't think, because I'm in the UK.
Does anyone know how to make this thing work again?
