I really want someone to do a completely earnest, dramatic, epic, not-silly, big-budget steampunk film so there can be a ballroom scene in which people in FABULOUS clothes waltz to the waltazable parts of Blades in Autumn.
This is, in part, probably because I suspect said film would be the closest I'd ever see on screen to some of the shit Kali and I were messing with in Descensus. No one really makes fantastical films that are as dark, serious and political as I want. Ever.
Also, I love this song SO HARD.

I wondered if the problem with the movie of 'Dune' that I saw (the extended director's cut of the Lynch version) was that it was too close to the novel?

The whole blonde muscled Paul of the newer mini-series really upset me. He's supposed to look like a runt! Not an Aryan ideal!

2. The actress had already sold that moment of fear giving way to relief and awe with her silent reaction after opening the door.
I guess Lynch was trying to reproduce the many, many, many interior monologues of the books. At least he didn't keep the characters' tendency to preface everything with "Ahhh..."
