kidney stone paranoia
Jul. 15th, 2010 01:47 pmSo, today I have this rolling, pretty unpleasant pain in my other side, right equivalent where the kidney stone pain was on the other side.
It's not constant, coming in and out. And it's not TERRIBLE, but it's ughy and weird. There's no way the cat scan would have missed a stone on the other side or another stone could have developed in a single week, is there? Even if I wasn't really drinking enough water in the UK because I was running around like mad and sweating because it was so hot there, right?

Date: 2010-07-16 04:09 am (UTC)My husband recently had a kidney stone, and he had pain in both kidneys a few days after passing the stone, and panicked... the doctor said that in his case, because it was a pretty large stone, both the affected kidney and the other one were swollen, and that sometimes the swelling doesn't recede "smoothly"...
In other words, sometimes while the kidneys are healing, they will swell up and get painful again as a part of the healing process.
Obviously, if the pain/discomfort continues or gets worse, call your doctor.
