New Duchess shirts have arrived. Despite the HORRIBLE heat, I have attempted to try them on and photograph them for you.

This was only quasi-successful. Do not comment on my hair. I'm getting it cut. ASAP. I was already on that page, and then saw it with the suit and was like "aaaaargh! aaaaaargh! aaaaaargh!" it's just been too hot to wear them all summer, so I had not realized.

My initial feeling that the collars were different seems to be mostly wrong, although they do seem a little less deep. Mostly though, it's just that they don't have collar stays in them right now (and I shot these with a lack of collar stays, so the lines aren't perfect).

Real pictures when I wear these things for real and I'm not holding the damn camera myself and it's not too hot to bind (which is also mucking up the lines, but jeez, it's like 90 in our apartment) and I'm not showing off the epic circles I get under my eyes because of celiac.

However:





WE ARE NOT DISCUSSING MY HAIR (look, I just got out of the shower, okay). The purple is much louder than this picture would lead you to believe. However, I can work with this; the tie had a significantly subduing influence. That is Patty's nail polish basket behind my head.




Can you tell this is the blue with the stripe here? Probably not. Maybe in the second photo? But it is gorgeous. GORGEOUS. It's the shirt Jack would wear on a date -- that perfect shade of blue, but fancy. I've got tie combos picked out for it, but I kinda just had to go with it like that for you. And yes, that's a Beanie Baby inch worm behind my head.




Meanwhile, I could not get the pink to photograph at all. Here, look at my awesome spitfire cufflinks instead. But the pink is vibrant and texture-y, and if you're at all like I am about texture, you'll just want to touch it lots and lots.

I'll do another picture attempt when I'm not trying to do laundry and covered in sweat.

(And I like the hair, but then again, I like scruffy, and I like long hair. And I'm full aware how much hair length matters for the whole passing thing. Sigh.)

Yeah, the purple is very much so. What's funny is in person it doesn't look the same at all (way too bright) but in reads exactly the same in the photo above, which actually makes me wonder if the actual shirt in that episode was also a horrifically bright color that didn't translate the same way on film.

I've been trying to avoid telling you this since the day I friended you because I can never figure out how to say it in a way that won't come off as kind of weird and patronizing, but I'm hoping that you can take it on faith that that's at all not how I mean this, because I just can't hold it back any longer:

You are so gosh-darned adorable that every time you post pictures I go AWWWWWWW right out loud. Your cuteness makes my cheeks hurt from sheer glee. I'm almost glad we've never met, because if we knew each other in person I'd spend all my time baking you delicious gluten-free cupcakes and cookies and various other sweet things and generally fawning over you in a stupid and annoying way, because you're just that cute.

These are lovely! I think the purple is my favorite in pictures (it's just begging for a vest, thank you for understanding). But based on your description I think the blue pin stripe might be my favorite in person (begging for suspenders, no?). Oh, and Cufflinks? FTW.
After reading about the process of getting these, I'm so happy they worked out!
Oh! And since we aren't talking about the hair... I think it looks kind Victorian here ( I may be getting my eras mixed up). Oscar Wilde-y? In any case, if you ever decide to Steampunk it up, this is the length you'll want :)
