Terrible dreams and then I woke up to a series of mild irritations, mostly involving the communication skills (or lack there of) of others. Also experiencing matinee dread.

Will attempt to embark on my ongoing catalog of marketing genius later (several of my LJ/RL friends have suggested I do little write ups about marketing stuff that really gets me going, and why I'm so into marketing etc., and since it's something I really enjoy talking about and also weaves through my own life (my father works in advertising, I've worked in PR most of my life, and I tend to be really drawn to pretty much anyone with a combination of weird obsessions and marketing genius) I thought it would be a good challenge to take on in the continuing effort to make myself say things here. Regrettably, many of my choices are relatively obvious in that Apple Computers to Eminem sort of way, although I do have a lot to say about a cell phone comercial Megan and I saw last night (who the hell was the provider on that again?)).
Anyone who has visited me recently is probably aware of the homeless encampment that has started to spring up around the corner from my house. I've been bothered/annoyed about it for a bit, because ths situation is unsanitary, and I have to walk under that construction scaffolding thing every day when I come home. I didn't feel threatened by it per se, but crowded and frustrated with it.

Today though, I received drama when I muttered sorry as I was asked for change, and for the third or fourth time this week I debated the moral quandry of calling the cops about the whole thing. The way this city treats the homeless is appalling, and bot the cops and I have better things to do than deal with each other. But I was definitely thinking it, and planning to discuss it with the roommate sometime soon.

On my way in earlier, I noticed a cop about halfway up the block, ringing an apartment door, and I thought about mentioning it to him, but let it go. When I got to that part of the street though, cops were there. The homeless men were gone, and they were throwing the various detritus of the area into the gutter. I've not idea what happened, and I'm glad someone finally dealt with it, but I can't help but think this is probably a most temporary solution.
