I don't know how I feel today yet -- I've not been awake long enough.

Yesterday the cats broke into the upstairs (which they are not allowed to do) and when I picked up Little to remove her from the room, Pretty backed away in fear I might drop little on her -- note: Little is the really fat cat. This amused me.

Also in yesterday's relatively sparse plus column: some limited information came out about the Russian epic (WWI subject) Luhrmann wants to do (which epic is actually happening next is apparently being announced next month), and the bodega across the street reopened at long last, providing me with some much needed Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Therapy (which has the best texture of nearly anything I've ever eaten) eventhough I actually generally try not to do things like that.

Worked on the website for Megan's theater company, which still has miles to go, but at least isn't weirdly broken anymore, and feeling productive helped both in terms of my relationship with the universe and in terms of pocket change to be nice to myself over the next few days. I've not been to the movies alone in quite some time, and I know I need to do that, and Kingdom of Heaven seems to be the right choice. I can't remember which Scott is directing, but I like them both.

Also, let's jsut take a moment to love on the SMH for this headline (and New Zealand for making it necessary): Only in New Zealand could they come up with a homicidal sheep epic.

greyhounds!

A dogtrack in CT is closing, and any of the hundreds of dogs there that are not adopted will be euthanized. They've managed to get a court order to extend the time period to get the dogs out, but that's still a lot of greyhounds. If you've been considering getting a dog or have room to foster a dog and are in the area, check out http://www.dakinshelter.org/news.html for more information on the dogs and their situation.

UPDATE: Apparently this is one of those out of hand internet things, and the greyhounds will be okay.
