Yesterday, while we were out, someone smashed a window in our bedroom, that isn't even over the fire escape, with a baseball bat. They did this with so much force shards of glass were embedded in a wall on the other side of the room.

Our laptops and ipods were stolen.

We're fine, the cats are fine, the work loss and the replacement costs are huge. And ther was an amazing adventure with an unccoperative super and trying to buy ply-wood at 11pm on a Saturday.

We're also going to be trying to break the lease and move ASAP.

So that happened.

We're exhausted, headed to pride and then (for me anyway) the Apple Store.

I don't know if this is common in NYC or not but you might want an alarm on your next place, for your peace of mind if nothing else. We live in a pretty high crime area and I'm really glad we have one.

*hugs* This SUCKS but I am glad that the HOOMINZ and DUH KITTEHS are okay. That is what matters. I bet Pride was one huge celebration after the marriage law changes recently!
