two unrelated but quasi-pressing questions

I sent my taxes in on the afternoon the 15th. How long should I expect it to take for them to deposit my checks -- i.e., when should I worry they didn't get it? (added: I owed them money... I'm not looking ofr my refund, I want to make sure they got my payment).

If I were going to pull a directing resume out of my ass (I've actually been an AD on a couple of stage things), can anyone point me to a good format, or a tip on how to do one with little-no credits... it's nothing pressing, this is just something I want to try my hand at and I see an opportunity. (if I had enough hair, I'd hide behind it, but let's get real).

I think it took about ten days for the check to go through, when I sent money in this year.

Because I fear the IRS! I was expecting money back, which is why I did them early, but alas. Foiled.

At least you weren't like this guy I know who waited until 12:25 here but used a west coast website so he got in under the deadline. Doing that would give me a heart attack.
