I am now nearly certain parents are in denial. I spoke with mom again tonight about my health and nothing was mentioned. Maybe I'll get a better read on it next time Kali comes up in conversation.

I'm ravenous, but trying to stick to an appropriate diet. I've been mildly adventurous tonight, but I don't think it should cause any additional grief.

The Day After Tomorrow is on TV. This movie is so a guilty pleasure.

I may have missed the post. What was the final verdict on your stomach?

mmmm...keep us posted. Good luck.

I am assuming thus far it has been non-invasive testing. No reason to think it is diverticulitis?

I know what you mean about The Day After Tomorrow. So trashy and contrived emotional, and yet I laugh - I cry! I can't help myself.

It does sound like a few choruses of 'La-la-la-I can't hear you" are coming from the land of the 'rents. I strongly believe that you did the right thing, but sometimes all we can do is hold a door open for others-whether they step through it is ultimately up to them.

Hopefully they just need time to process this in their own way.

What my dad said: "You don't need to tell us so much about your life"
What my mom said: nothing, ever, though she did point out a women once or twice and say she thought she was pretty (in a different way than she would have before, more like how she often does with guys)

I think there's a weird subset of parents that that's the best they can do, NOT take it poorly.

Have you thought that maybe the rents knew already and the letter was no surprise, just confirmation of what was always left unsaid?
My family had the 'don't ask, don't tell' long before the pentagon ever thought of it! On private issues, if you don't ask, then no one has to tell and if no one tells it never happened. Thoughts are with you.

It would be hard for them to be surprised given, well, me, but at the same time, they could at least foist that "well, yeah, what?" indignity on me if nothing else.

Thnx.

I hear you.

Btw, I came across your journal through mobo, just so you know.

I'm extremely late on all this sine I have been wallowing in my own self pity.

I am lighting a candle for you and will keep you in my thoughts. Bland food, while not tasty, is safe. I know that it's hard to stick with, but just a few more days.

*hug*
