My computer is back (totally new OS) and my data was saved. It's going to take me ages to get things back how I want (scanner needs to be reinstalled, Trillian needs to be reacquired, etc etc -- nothing difficult but I may not have time for a few days), andboth my room and my digital life have been totally disrupted through this ordeal, but lots of cleaning done on both fronts.

Thank you to everyone who has been with me and offering help during this nightmare.

Also: GIP!

Also: If you have been or should be someone I communicate with via AIM -- I'm currently snakelette72. My machine is often on when I am not here though, so don't take it personally if I ignore you for hours and hours and hours. But if we chat, please msg the i.d., so I can re-ad you to my buddy list, as that is not something we were able to save.

When I used to write her letters before we lived together, I never wrote a name on the return address and only used my po box number. Her mother decided this was highly suspicious and gave me the name. It made us both laugh, and I kept it.

Yay for getting your computer fixed - Some of my more memorable melt-downs have happened when my computer decided not to work.

It seems we had the same idea! I was wondering if anyone else would make an icon out of that pic.

It's just so adorable. I remember when I read book 5 how shocked I was that despite the fact that I had adored Snape from the beginning, I just wanted to protect that poor young iteration of it. When I saw these pics, I squeed. Exact same reaction.

I was watching "COS" earlier tonight, and while watching Snape in the dueling club scene, my mind was picturing him out under the tree. Knowing that the lonely young boy whose future had yet to be determined had grown up into an angry older man, who for all intents and purpses was serving two masters, made me really sad. Snape should be everyone's lesson, although I am not naive enough to think most people will realise that there is something to be learned from Severus Snape's story.

The HP universe is such a series of tragedies. What's fascinating to me, and such a really lovely surprise, that its Snape's story we'll ultimately have the fullest picture of if not in the details, in the arc.

Thank you. It's shocking what a relief it is.
