Why haven't I heard anything about this?
Does it even have an American release date scheduled yet?

ETA: Of course, since I rarely see films in general release anymore, I rarely see previews anymore. Duh.

Date: 2006-10-21 08:32 pm (UTC)If Children of Men is at all like its trailer, it should likely win an award for most vilely sexist film of the year. In addition to the fact that I've only seen the "humanity has stopped being able to reproduce" plot used by impressively sexist male authors like Frank Herbert, the trailer talks solely about female infertility to the extent that one would assume that women spontaneously undergo pathenogenesis. Moreover, the plot revolves around saving the one remaining pregnant teen by smuggling her into some secret research project where she will be save and the reasons for her fertility will be studied. All of the actors are white, except for the young woman, who is not only black, but despite being show in almost half the trailer was not given a single line of dialog. My loathing for this movie already knows no bounds.
