Date: 2006-10-22 01:19 am (UTC)The book is spectacular, though I understand that the movie is pretty much not the book. The book gave me the same feel as Paul Auster's In the Country of Last Things (which, I think, you introduced me to), although perhaps because they were both so incredibly dystopic.
I am not usually a visual person, and for the most part books give me a sense of plot and place but I very rarely remember a book as if it were a movie. This is not the case with this book. I have a very strong sense of having watched the action, and will therefore probably not see the movie.
