*sigh*

I've been trying to avoid coming to this conclusion for about a month, but I think it's unavoidable at this point. I definitely have the common celiac casein sensitivity. Unlike gluten it doesn't cause me pain and neuro stuff, and I can eat some without it being a disaster, but I have to be careful.

Oh, dang. I'm sorry... that was something that happened to me, on the road to diagnosis. I did (finally) get a good amount of casien and lactose back, after several years of eating correctly.

Lactose is a non issue. It's really just cheese (the sausage I eat is already casein-free), so if I plan my food carefully, I can do it, but I'm not happy.

I avoid that stuff, but I've found that goat and sheep cheeses don't mess with me at all. It's quite nice. Although i do miss pizza

Crap. I'm sorry to hear that. Pleased you're now aware of it and can take steps to avoid casein, but damn, what a pain. :(

grrrr... there are cheeses without casein, right?

though, on the cheese topic, you will be pleased to know that 2 weeks ago, I once again bought a kilo of brie. and thought of you.

I'm so glad you continue to be determined to find food that works for you on all levels, not just based on "what can I eat that won't make me sick" but also what will fulfill you on a soul level. I have friends whose sensitivities and allergies pushed them into the realm of "well, we just eat cuz we have to" and they lost all joy in it.

When my Bond-villain-esque offshore biotech lab is up and running, I shall mail you stomach nanobots to solve these problems. You do not deserve this indignity.

They will probably arrive in a mysterious amber flask with a heavily waxed stopper, handwritten label, and instructions in barely-legible green ink; they will taste like chestnut and copper and vetiver.

Thank you. This so moved me, I don't really have words for it.
