Triplette -arrrrgh!@#@#@!
Jan. 11th, 2007 02:13 pmOkay. The fencing jacket saga continues. I am beyond frustrated.
Let's recap:
Jacket arrives and arms are 4 inches too short.
I send jacket back for an exchange. After speaking to them on the phone they assure me that the new pattern for the size 34 will accomodate my arm length.
They doublecharge my credit card.
I call them, get the second charge taken off.
New jacket arrives, it fits perfectly, BUT it's the stretch jacket -- I ordered the cotton duck!!#!#@#.
So now I have to send it back, AGAIN, because it doesn't offer as much protection as the jacket I should have received. And this means I still can't fence properly next week.
I think I'm going to cry.

Date: 2007-01-11 08:36 pm (UTC)Hi there!
Date: 2007-01-11 08:00 pm (UTC)One thing I need to clarify - Triplette Competition Arms is now a separate and unconnected business from Zen Warrior Armory. TCA deals wholly and only in USFA & FIE sport fencing gear, and Zen Warrior deals specifically with medieval and renaissance martial arts supplies. Let me be clear - these two businesses are no longer connected. Whom did you order from?
If you ordered from Triplette, I am not surprised in the least. The people who bought TCA from Zen Warrior are, quite frankly, falling down on the job. I wouldn't order from them, and there's not a lot I can do for you.
If, however, you ordered from Zen Warrior, here is what I think you should do. Pick up the phone and call them up (336-835-1205), ask for Walter. Don't talk to Dave or Matt or any of those other guys. Walter owns the business. Tell him Alejandro sent you. Detail to him, specifically your problem; read him out your recap above! Let him know you're not happy, and why. Walter is good about making good on customer complaints, so rest assured something will get done about it.
Let me know how it comes out. My email address is my lj handle at yahoo. I'm really interested in making sure this gets fixed, and properly.
On behalf of the company, I apologize that we've been a pain in the hindquarters, and we'll do our best to make it right. Please do let me know how it goes.

Date: 2007-01-11 08:23 pm (UTC)Thank you so much for taking this sort of time though. Do you all have fencing jackets? Maybe I should just cancel my order with them.
Re: Hi there!
Date: 2007-01-11 08:34 pm (UTC)I practice in the T-253 - it'll take a beating like you wouldn't believe. I take some pretty stout shots, and it sucks most of the bad out of them. They're made from cotton denim. Wash them, but don't dry them!
I also own the S-394, which is nifty and space age - breathes well, but it's only one layer so you *WILL* get hit. However, it will definitely save your hide in a pinch/blade-break, and it's lo-profile if you need something to go under a costume.
That number I gave you above is our number. You can call up and talk to Walter himself (again, tell him Alejandro sent you) or any of the nutjobs floating around the shop. Hope we can do a good job for you! And please do let me know how it goes, regardless.
