I am in that transitional moment where I am not quite motivated to leave one task so that I can go do the next task, which is in fact very easy.

Tomorrow I have to venture into parts of Brooklyn unknown for the cane class, about which I have my mild "things unknown" trepidation I have about pretty much everything, despite how I conduct myself. Not a big deal, but to get back to good ol' boring logistics and not my crazy head -- my personal level of planning for new subway excursions and the reality of the transit system here don't always mix. I should stop by the office on the way down (I'm actually going in on Sunday). I should also do laundry tonight (Hey, can anyone tell my why my fencing jacket which notes it is made from pre-shrunk cotton also says on the tag that I shouldn't tumble dry it? What will happen? Because ideally, I'd wash it tomorrow morning and then tumble dry it.)

All right. Now to Whole Foods for gluten-free pizza, drop off of stuff to various people and then home to watch DVDs and work on my own projects. Oh, speaking of DVDs, I swear to you, I spent ten minutes this morning watching the beginning of Marie Antoinette while lying in bed and eating French chocolate. Then I remembered that my life isn't quite _that_ fictional and employment called. But ah, it was pleasant.

You found good GF pizza? Details, please.

Also, what's the cane class?

Does your jacket have any reinforcements in it? Is the padding also made of cotton? I would think it would be something like that. Just the outside of it may be made of pre-shrunk cotton.

Glutino pizza. ONly at the whole foods on 24th and 7th.

Maestro Loriegga does an exchange with my salle, so a bunch of us are going tomorrow to check out his technique. Yup, fighting with canes. Exactly what it sounds like; I think. There will be a full report.

Jacket is just layers and lawyers of said cotton. Can't figure it.

pre-shrunk cotton is not 'never will shrink' cotton, i've found. it's the difference between having to buy your jeans a size or two large to make sure they fit after washing and having to wriggle into your correct size because it's a little smaller coming out of the dryer. i would not take my chances with a pricey garment. i hang-dry most of my cottons.

The cotton fabric may be pre-shrunk, but the stitching may not be - or the stitching may not shrink at the same rate as the jacket. I'd tumble dry low and let it hang up to dry the rest of the way, if that's an option. Also, stretch it at the seams while it's wet, if they're bunching.

High heat breaks down fibers over time and weakens the fabric (think dryer lint). That's something you probably don't want to have happen on a very expensive garment.
