Someone is looking for a chick to play Hamlet.
Goodness I want to get called in for this.
I just wrote such an essay of a cover note.

Some years ago a local theatre, I think it was the Alley, did a production of Hamlet with a female lead. They played it straight; they didn't make Hamlet into a woman or change any of that; they just had a female lead actor. It was brilliant and critically acclaimed.
