Since sometime yesterday afternoon, I've been periodically smelling a very specific scent, that lof an oil used in love spells for candle magick. It's a very specific scent and if you were ever fourteen and a big honking idiot like me you probably know it.

This could be any number of things -- a sudden inexplicable shift in my body chemistry with some BPAL I wear all the time, some weird celiac neuro hallucination thing, or another mystery smell floating through New York that will eventually make homeland security news.

Regardless, it's annoying and creepy and weird. And sort of funny, as in funny odd, no funny haha.

Hee! Is that better or worse than the Evil Hand sex you get in Angel fandom?

oh man, I don;t know anything about that. I am so procrastinating that I am this close to googling for the epic where Muldar is Skinner's sex slave -- and bad at it

Hahahaha.

Good timing then! I was uploading that CD I mentioned last night for you, and it just finished. Rouge's Gallery My favorite song is 'Rolling Sea', but I think a lot of it is stuff you'd like.

AWESOME. You know what sucks? I won't be able to listen to it until tomorrow. No sound at home!

Oh, right. That does suck! I can't be on the computer without background music.

From: [identity profile] rm.livejournal.com
Well I can have music playing, just not form the computer.

Still, still. I'd be annoyed if I had to burn CDs (or whatever you do) of everything I wanted to listen to.

Yeah, I susually burn CDs at work and bring them home. Silly, yeah? I often use film for background noise though, so I'll have Marie Antoinette or whatever on the portable as background noise/music.

Well, if it works...

Ah, yeah. I'll turn on the TV sometimes and let random shows play in the background, though I usually don't bother to use movies because I know I won't pay attention to them.

We have all the DVDs EVER.

From: [identity profile] wordsofastory.livejournal.com
Hee. I have more than I need, but not that many.

HOw many does one need, technically?

Date: 2007-04-14 04:29 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] wordsofastory.livejournal.com
...true.

But I 'need' even less than the average person, since I have weird ADD issues regarding TV and almost never actually watch DVDs. I think the last one I saw was in February, and even that I forced myself to because I wanted to see some of the Oscar nominees.

Ah. TV is hard. It's not film, it's not all emcompassing. I can only realy watch DVDs of things I saw in the theater. It's hard for a first time viewing for me, even if it doesn't need the big screen.

Yeah. I'm glad you know what I mean! Usually if I try to tell someone that I can't pay attention to TV, they think I'm insane.

There are a vew shows I can focus on very intensely because they are cinematically constructed and presented (HBO stuff mainly). But with network TV it's so har d-- small screen and designed for interruption.

Yeah, HBO is good. Especially since it doesn't have commercials.

It's easiest if I'm doing something with my hands- eating, or folding clothes, or whatever- but I can't just sit and watch.

Ha! Oh, I can't believe I didn't notice what I was saying.

You actually sort of walked into another one earlier, but it was too convoluted for me to take easy advantage of.

But hey, it's cool, HBO can be pretty porny.

Clearly I am all out of practice at not being accidentally dirty. I used to have a friend who would take every possible opportunity to make a sex joke.

That it is. Also, I think watching Deadwood increased my swearing vocabularly by several magnitude.

cocksucker!

Seriously though, people in fencing complain about that show because the swearing to duelling caused by swearing ratio is off.

Date: 2007-04-14 05:08 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] wordsofastory.livejournal.com
Hee! But it would be gun dueling: not nearly as much fun.

True, but even so. We have a lot of pistol afficianados in teh salle.
