Bobby Jindal -- WTF?!!?

Katrina? Soviets?

I feel like he just became the Evan Bayh of his party.

Young, full or promise, the next president.... and then, he spoke. And didn't stop talking. When he really should have.

That was so tone deaf.

It was so creepy.
"Thank you comrade Jindal for our wonderful life!"

I'm amazed that the US gets credit for freeing people that we enslaved ourselves and that Katrina is an illustration of the value of GOP policy eliminating government.

-sigh-

oh, and Americans can do ANYTHING!

I dunno, have you ever watched French television?

Still, we have certainly made an art of it.

Okay, after a year of Hong Kong television . . you have NO IDEA HOW MUCH SENSE AMERICA MAKES and that should be very frightening to everyone.

Wow. I can only imagine what Hong Kong TV must be like, these days.
But the idea that U.S. TV is even comparables truly frightening.
I am a Canadian, and I feel so spoiled right now.
All I have to endure is Ben Mulroney!

Well, yes they can.
Which is not good for reactionary politicians. Anywhere.

Americans can.

Credit for freeing people who would have been free a generation earlier, if the American colonies had not insisted on home rule.
And we will not discuss the mess with Texas.
No, I would not have gone there.
Other subjects to avoid in future: siding with Napoleon, sitting out all but the last 200 days of WWI, getting rich doing business with Hitler, Jim Crow, and burning Toronto to the ground.
Suggested alternatives: Marshal Plan, creating the U.N., establishing freedom of religion, modern music, Star Trek, NASA, being the printing press to the world, and most of the best movies ever( and almost all of the musicals).

To be fair, I think that Bollywood has made a fair amount of musicals (if you're willing to count film musicals), but other than that I'm right there with you.

Speaking of completely befuddling references, the Soviet defeat thing is just amazing to me. I know that there is this line about how Regan won the Cold War, but really it was the decade long war in Afghanistan if one single factor must be chosen. And yes, the US did support a lot of the anti-Soviet fighters in Afghanistan who unified to later form the Taliban.

That *really* wouldn't be my choice for demonstrating the genius of American ingenuity and perseverance.

Random arbitrary piece of Bollywood trivia:

More films about Alexander the Great have been made in Bollywood than films have been made in the entirety of the US film system about anything, at all, ever.

Oh I like this game!

Lata Mangeshkar, Bollywood playback singer, has recorded over 30,000 songs and is widely though to be the most recorded person in the world (some people dispute this by claiming that Mangeshkar's sister had more).

Mostly, just plain wonderful.
I haven't seen a single musical about Alexander the Great. Ever.
I haven't ever even seen a musical that Alexander the Great was in. Or mentioned in. Or referred to at all, or referenced in any way.

The Gods bless you little Internet, I love you so.

And the lightning rod. And the best Library system anywhere.
Don't talk about relative standings in test scores. Do not.
