still waiting
Mar. 13th, 2009 01:26 pmI am fascinated that everyone has gone mad for the 1920s - 1940s of a sudden. Some of what it is about is obvious, but some of it -- I can't figure it out.
Anyway, the latest deeply random (poetry + pre-war brothel theme) event that might be awesome (or totally irksome): http://www.thepoetrybrothel.com/
And I might be going to a swing dance thing Saturday. Or Sunday. Depending.
Of course, knowing me (and current circumstances) I might not go anywhere at all.
Meanwhile, WHERE ARE THE GREEN ENERGY INSTALLATION PEOPLE?

Of course I realize that their choice of absinthe may say nothing at all about the quality of their poetry, but I just like people to get these details right.

Date: 2009-03-13 11:13 pm (UTC)Of course, the period in question is when modern Science fiction was invented, so maybe good will come of this.
(I am annoyingly optimistic that SF&F not only had the power to save my life, it has the power to save the world. Whether the world wishes to be saved or not.)
And any interest in the past, however feeble, has got to be a good thing, no?
