- I am now the GLBT Business Examiner at Examiner.com, if you have a story idea for me, please let me know (i.e., are you a queer small business owner? executive? participant in your company's diversity committee? talk to me).
- Textbroker is now making me fax them a copy of my passport, because I had the temerity to register from a UK IP address and now they don't believe ALL THE OTHER INFORMATION I PROVIDED THEM THAT I AM A US CITIZEN. I worked hard not to be snarky in my reply to them.
- OMG, I JUST ATE THE BEST INDIAN FOOD IN EVER. Seriously, all our other meals have been decent, but I don't see any reason to eat anything other than Indian food in this country. And this, from me, who HATED Indian food five years ago. OMG SO GOOD.
- We are totally thinking of going to a Bhangra club night this weekend.
- I finally can say Ianto properly and not like Jack does. Patty mocks me.
- Speaking of Patty, she's in the bathtub. Why am I on the Internet? zoom....

Date: 2010-04-14 09:24 pm (UTC)One of my Welsh friends insists that Jack is the only one who says it properly. Surely she is putting me on? But there you go. Then again, there is quite a lot of diversity even among Welsh accents.
Keep having a good time!

Date: 2010-04-14 10:55 pm (UTC)Hrmmm, I'd be dead of starvation in that case! It smells great but then comes loaded up with fresh coriander/cilantro which entirely takes away my appetite. And asking them to leave it off has in the past earned me a 10-minute tirade from the chef ....

Date: 2010-04-15 12:45 am (UTC)-Congrats! I have a friend who was just named an expert in a related subject. Will be interesting, though, because she's hardcore Republican on everything but gay rights and (looks around for mutual friends listening) so far, not a very good writer...

-I felt the same way when I went to London. Though my obligatory fish and chips was quite good too.
-You should go! I'm listening to a Bhangra CD today, in fact. Is it just the music or will you be learning the namesake dancing, too?
-I never realized there was a difference. I suppose we should blame this on his American accent? ;)

Date: 2010-04-15 03:09 am (UTC)It's usually what I eat when I'm cooking for myself. Everything else just seems so bland in comparison. After-all, he who controls the Spice, controls the universe! ;P

Date: 2010-04-15 10:32 am (UTC)And then there's the Welsh "ll" which is wild, but once you learn to say it without sound like either one of the English or a rabid dog, it's a rather lovely soft consonant that's only found in that particular variant of the Gaelic languages.
I shall PM you some recipes (or even post some to my LJ -- I should do that for my own record-keeping sometime anyway!) in the next week or so. I love passing along these Indian recipes!
