Continuing Sherlock re-watch for scholarship.

The line that makes the whole series work for me on a personal level is this:

SO SO SO SO SO GOOD. The delivery and direction of that moment is just breathtaking.

Thank you for warning me of the same a few weeks ago. Knowing that I should just go with cursing it from the beginning made it a much more relaxing experience and let me enjoy the good bits.

I'm dreading having to watch it again. It's just a hot mess on so many levels.

tnh's theory is that they found an old script from the 1950s or 1960s, and someone adapted it; I think she might be right.

I was warned about it, too, and it made it much easier to watch it than going in blindly would have. (Also, I could see my friends, who'd watched it before, out of my peripheral vision, and anticipate the bad parts from their cringing.)
