Completely unrelated, but just as much up my nose: Ugh, I hate when gender norms amongst reenactors bite me. I'm just trying to avoid having to make my own breeches, but a woman? in breeches? horror! I may have to make my own. Am annoyed.

Date: 2006-08-22 06:27 pm (UTC)I saw a fandom rant a few days ago about house Slytherin House is confusing because it has conservative values but does not behave in conservative ways. I thought that was a misunderstanding of it, or at least one of those sloppy mappings between our world and theirs, but I thought the rant raised potential stuff of interest.
